Mamoun’s Falafel on Lexington Ave in New York City is the real deal. If you’re in Manhattan and looking for authentic Middle Eastern food this is exactly where you need to be. I ordered the lamb shawarma with seasoned rice and it was outstanding. The lamb was perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor that hits different from your average shawarma spot. This was my worst experience with the restaurant. I’m a regular customer, and after being away for two months, I came back and was very disappointed. The sandwiches had very little filling—mostly just lettuce—and there was barely any meat or falafel. The bread was not fresh, and the salad was extremely cold. Overall, it was a very poor experience and I will not be returning.
Exceptional and legendary NY institution. Lamb shawarma platter and mint lemonade never disappoints. They have the balance of flavors (get the salad option with the lamb platter) in these 2 items down perfectly. Both are mind bogglingly good, especially if you are hungry or thirsty. Not sure where these low reviews are coming from. I order these every 2 weeks and it is always consistently good.
