I ordered 4 slices of cake from this bakery, and unfortunately, all of them were a disappointment. Every slice was dry and not edible. The tres leches cake tasted old and dry—nothing like it should—and the cheesecake was off as well. I ended up throwing all four cakes away. Total waste of money. Very disappointed.
The chilaquiles from this restaurant are my favorite in all of NYC. 🇲🇽 Although all of Mandato’s food is great, the one dish that takes the crown are the green chilaquiles. The cheese they use on top of the dish is delicious, and the “pápalo” in the dish adds so much flavor. When I used to live in the Bay Ridge area I used to order their chilaquiles at least twice every week. They’re that good. My second favorite option were their cemitas, which are a great size and very filling. Mandato is on
