I stopped by Mapo Asian Restaurant & Bar and was genuinely impressed. The food has that authentic Sichuan kick—especially the Mapo Tofu, which is definitely their signature dish. The numb-spicy flavor hits perfectly without being overwhelming. The restaurant is clean, bright, and very welcoming from the moment you walk in. The Salt & Pepper Prawns were fantastic. Great flavor and big and juicy pieces. The Spicy Sichuan Vegetarian Noodles was edible, but I wouldn’t order it again. Wasn’t spicy at all to me. I would come back to try something else.
I posted a photo of empty plates for a reason - I ate everything. Bok choy, two cucumber dishes (get the one with chili oil), General Tso’s chicken, soup dumplings, shrimp dim sum, and beef fried rice. Every dish landed. Flavor, freshness, execution - all of it.
