I think it's pretty good! The line was short but people were ordering a lot of items so I'm definitely curious. They have a lot of options, a combo of Chipotle and Dos Toros but no farro. My first order: brown rice, peppers and onions, pinto beans, spicy chicken, corn, pickled onions, tortilla chips, white cheese, lime, cilantro with hot spicy mama sauce. Pretty spicy (7/10) and overall more flavorful than Chipotle (per a Chipotle fan). Can't wait to try the tacos!
Stopped in here on a whim today, and I am so glad I did! Tried the birria steak tacos, which they kindly gave me fresh hot sauce for free of charge. It comes with a small side of the broth/stew, also, which was nice—even though the meat itself was really perfectly savory and tender, it just elevated it beyond 🤌🏼 I also got a slice of the tres leches cake—oh, man. Incredible. I will definitely make this place a very regular part of my rotation.
Maya Mexican Grill is a great new addition to the Upper East Side. They serve fresh, authentic Mexican food with generous portions. The space is warm and inviting, and the staff is very friendly. A solid spot for anyone craving real Mexican cuisine.
