Mendis in Crown Heights is an excellent restaurant with simple and good food, excellent burgers and inviting sandwiches and fine Asian food. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean and very inviting, and the service is polite, but a little slow. The place is perfect for a private evening, a family meal or just a treat in the neighborhood!
I came in for a quick vacation visit and I wanted to taste an authentic Israeli dish and I have to say I’m very impressed with the service and the atmosphere and the food was so good. I would definitely come back here again.
I really enjoyed this place. I’m not from New York and I’m not Jewish but I found this to be a really amazing kosher restaurant to visit. The hummus and pita were delicious. I wasn’t super hungry so didn’t try any other menu items but it all looked good from what I saw other people eating.
