The best South Asian meal I’ve had in NYC! And SUPER friendly, speedy service! I told them to make the mutton curry as spicy 🥵 as possible, and this meal will be living on my tastebuds for days to come. And the dhal is ALL! I was tempted to go buy an entire container to take home. Most people don’t equate Staten Island with flavor, but this little strip of Victory Boulevard is changing that, with New Asha leading the charge. Sooo good! Came here with my family, and we ordered the mutton curry, chicken curry, chicken kottu roti, as well as some of their veggie and meat rolls. Delicious!! Though some was a little too spicy for my mother, she still found everything to be very tasty. Drinks were great too (a mango lassi, and two passion fruit juices). Service was so welcoming and lovely thanks to the owner, Viji. Makes me wish I had another stomach. We left very dated and with an order of dosa :)
My friend and I visited New Asha, and it was AMAZING. We split a plate of chicken kottu and a mango lassi and passion fruit drink. I expect to see it in my dreams haha. It was all fantastic. One of my favorite meals while I've been in NYC. The women who were working there were so lovely. We chatted with them for a while, and they were so welcoming and super generous with the servings and were kind enough to give us a free drink and rolls. I'm determined to visit whenever I return!
