My goto for Chinese and Japanese take out in Throggs Neck. Their food, drinks and noodles with duck sauce reminds me of the old Hawaii Sea on Tremont. I always order from them and I am never disappointed. But this review is not for the great food but for them going above and beyond to please a customer. A friend of mine caught a fresh yellow fin tuna and I wanted to make my own sushi. They sold me their sushi rice which is awesome and included all the condiments I needed to make the meal with
Been going here since 1998 when George owned it. It was delicious and fresh when he owned it and it showed. Now, its empty, dirty and staff is rude (ESPECIALLY the female owner behind the counter). I have gone recently and got ill every time. Figured they would get their act together after the HUGE health violations they had two years ago. Ordered Sesame Chicken combo around 8pm. The chicken wasn't edible, the chicken fried rice was awful. Their food was as awful as their service. First time I do not leave a tip, don't know why, it's the second american Chinese joint in this part of the BX which has terrible cooking. It's as if their clients don't know any better and keep patronizing them, no doubt people living this far from the city haven't travelled much. It was terrible, lucky I don't live there.
