It’s hard to come by a place that does good jjajangmyun, jjamppong, AND tangsuyook, but Octo does all three really well for a reasonable price. This is definitely my new go-to spot for my Korean-Chinese food cravings. We split those three dishes between two people and were completely full with plenty leftover, so portions are pretty generous.
I brought my colleagues several times because I like their Jjambbong ( Spicy seafood noodles) so much. I liked to try Jjajangmyen next week. Tangsuyuk among the Set Menu seemed a bit hard to chew, but still tasty. The atmosphere was great and staff was very kind.
I’ve been coming to Octo since it first opened, and it’s still my favorite Korean-Chinese restaurant. That’s why this review is disappointing to write. On my recent visit, both the tangsuyuk and jjamppong fell short of what I remember. The tangsuyuk lacked meat flavor and the batter was tough, while the jjamppong tasted noticeably blander than before. If I didn’t care about this place, I simply wouldn’t come back. I’m leaving this feedback because I genuinely hope Octo can return to the level
