This place is a super chill spot with great coffee from a local roaster. We came on a quiet day, and the server was friendly and helpful. We didn’t get any food, but it looks good, and we heard it’s also from local bakeries. The music level was also low and chill, which was nice, and WiFi was good. Definitely worth a visit. Edit: the bathroom is very clean too!
Another great black sesame latte in Chinatown. The Silk & Smoke is a black sesame/vanilla blend and was a bit more vanilla forward than sesame but still an excellent latte and clearly well-made. I didn’t try any pastries but the case was stocked and everything looked great. This is a great café to relax in, read a book, or draw some art. It’s very peaceful and there are lots of cute community activities and events posted.
Paper Sons Café ended up being one of those unexpected finds that turned into a great stop during our trip. One of the tricks we learned while traveling around New York City—especially when you need a restroom—is to stop into a coffee shop, and this one was a win-win. The staff was very kind and welcoming, and they had a solid selection of coffees, including decaf, which was appreciated. The café itself was clean, and the bathrooms were also clean—a huge plus when you’re out exploring the city.
