I was so excited to come eat here as I haven’t been to a Pio Pio in years. It was definitely not the experience I remembered . The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there . The fried rice was so bad, the chicken was hard as a rock and added shrimp was crunchy like it was from the day before. Hoping the dog will eat it for dinner later. Luckily the 1/2 chicken was still as tasty as I remembered. Maybe an off day but I don’t think I will be returning to this location .
I’ve only ever been to the UWS location before, this one is much smaller and has much fewer options to choose from. That being said, everything was just as delicious. If you get the Arroz Chaufa just be aware it can feed like 2-3 people.
After a doctor’s appointment, I decided to treat myself to lunch at Pio Pio. I ordered the lunch special, and it was a great deal — generous portions at a reasonable price. I had the avocado salad, a quarter chicken with rice and beans, and tostones, all of which were delicious. To top it off, I enjoyed a refreshing sangria. Overall, a satisfying and affordable meal!
