I was excited to find this (new to me) cafe after passing by crowded Villager once again and what a delightful place it is - lovely cafe seating and delishous food offerings. I mentioned my weekness for cinnamon buns and joked that I wish there were a half size option to curb my craving. The barista said "hold on" and then gifted me a small bun for free! Used to really enjoy the pastries here, but I found a baby roach in my drink some months ago and haven't been back since! It also didn't help that there was always a long line on the weekends and ingredients were often out of stock -- probably an issue with the management because it doesn't seem understaffed on weekends. Saw another reviewer share that workers here don't get breaks... I think even if they wanted to, they couldn't because the place would always be so busy when I was there. Owner
I walked in to Polly’s and was browsing the menu and pastries when the barista interrupted me with ‘What can I get started for you?’ Presumably that is the kind of service managers encourage here. When a customer is clearly making a decision, prompting them to order is not helpful, it’s rude. She was not especially engaging or forthcoming when I asked her questions about the pastries either, responding in curt monosyllables.
