Red House feels like a culinary mix of Shanghai and Northern Chinese cuisine. One thing is for sure: they do not play around with their spices! Even ordering 'wei wei la' (mild spice) packs a punch. Overall, most of the dishes lean toward standard Chinese comfort food, nothing groundbreaking stood out, but the prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. Also reco bringing cash bc they offer cash discount!
When you first walk in, the lanterns are very pretty. But if you have a larger party, you will turn to the right and then… it looks.. not as pretty? There are fans on the chairs because the kitchen is right there and it might cool down the customers a bit. I feel like the food does taste good and the service is decent.
The Dongpo pork was amazing! The meat was tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth — rich but not greasy. Highly recommend! Beautiful presentation and great service. Will definitely come back!
