I got the house special banh mi. To be honest, this was my first time having a banh mi so I'm not an expert on the topic but I liked it! The dish was a symphony of textures. The baguette was very crispy, giving way to some crunchy and slightly acidic vegetables, vibrant cilantro, tender and juicy sliced meats, and some crispy grilled minced pork. Im so gutted that ive passed this by for 30byears and just discovered its the best in Chinatown if not the City. Eric took over the business from the original owner makes his sandwiches small batch. Your can tell the difference in quality and heft of the ingredients. The bread is crisper and has substance to hold the ingredients together. Not falling apart. The pate is delicate aromatic complements not overwhelming. Just a great day for me to reintroduce myself to why I love NYC.
I really only have great things to say about this place. I work around the corner and I can’t believe I’ve been there months and have not been over here.
