My family and I celebrated my son’s birthday at Scalinatella in NYC, and it was an amazing experience. The food was incredibly fresh, and the pasta was prepared right in front of us. One of the chefs even personally removed the bones from my fish tableside, which was a very special touch and showed their attention to detail and service. Cautionary tale here.. A group of girlfriends and I dined here last weekend. Beware of the waiters trying to rip you off. A menu is a concept when it comes to this restaurant - they rattle everything off verbally when you sit down. If you even try to order from the menu they look at you confused. We enjoyed our experience at Scalinatella. Was recommended by a friend. The flavors were excellent, we were happy with most of our dishes. Friendly service which was very attentive, at least until it was super busy in the dining room. But we like to eat pretty early (had a show to catch). Wasn't a problem for us. Only complaint was our pesto pasta was undercooked. Nearly crunchy. I like al dente, this was just a hair too undercooked. Still ate it because the pesto was very flavorful. It's expens
