We stopped here for breakfast before starting the High Line Boardwalk, and it turned out to be the best breakfast we had during our entire stay in New York! We both ordered what we Italians would call the "classic American breakfast": bacon, eggs, cheese, hash browns and toasted white bread with butter and jam. We visited the Skylight diner Sunday April 12th 2026 after the New York car show at the Jacob javits center. We were greeted immediately walking in and sat right away. The restaurant was very clean and the entire staff was nice and friendly. We ordered toasted bacon with cream cheese and lox and the New York char-broiled cheeseburger deluxe cooked medium.. Very large menu with lots of option. The food was good and fast. I ordered a chocolate peanut butter milkshake and they did not skimp on the peanut butter like most places do. The famous bacon cheeseburger was just an average burger in my opinion. It was good but nothing special.
