I stopped by this Starbucks on 8th Avenue while visiting a friend who lives nearby. I’ve been to quite a lot of Starbucks around the world, so by now I feel like I can read a branch pretty quickly. This one felt very “New York” — busy, fast-paced, and people constantly coming and going. I grabbed a drink and sat for a bit. First I want to say that the staff are amazing, so my issue is not with them but rather with whatever policy the management implemented which forces every member of the team to yell “welcome in” in unison every time a customer walks in, which at 8am is like every 2 seconds. It’s jarring to say the least, and definitely doesn’t inspire a desire to sit around and enjoy my coffee….which I suppose is a moot point bc I always take it to go. This starbucks had a friendly staff. They were quick, personable and attentive. I always get a Blond Doppio and prefer it as soon as it is done. They were spot on!
