Lovely Indo spot nestled in Queens. Travelling from out of town, took a cab from Manhattan out here for lunch. The restaurant is small but functional. Lacks AC for a hot summer but many cold refreshments. Food was delicious and the menu was very vast
according to my Indonesian friend this is very authentic indo food! my first time trying and everything was so flavorful and yummy!!! We ordered so well i would honestly reorder everything again!! we got the following: - Pempek - Nasi padang bungkus - Soto betawi - Nasi padang set - Mi goreng w beef everything was so amazing!! if you’re not sure what to order highly rec anything we got. worth the trek in the blizzard 😋
Sumatra Restaurant definitely brings me closer home with its authentic Indonesian flavor. As noodle fans i love their Mi Ayam Komplit, perfectly cooked noodle with the tasty stirred chicken blended together in every bites. Also the crispy wanton wrapped the minced chicken with rich aroma of sesame oil. As for their famous ‘Nasi bungkus’ The blended aroma of banana leaf, jasmine rice, coconut and spices increase my appetite. I cant decide which protein to go with mine. I love the tasty beef ren
