have to give a huge shoutout to this omakase spot in Union Square — it was absolutely amazing. For NYC omakase in the $100–$200 range, the quality and flavors are definitely top-tier. Had a pretty good omakase in Manhattan last week. The overall pacing and quality were solid. The oyster with Hokkaido uni and caviar shot was a great start. The uni was sweet with no bitterness and the caviar with the oyster created a nice burst of umami. The lobster negitoro tart was another highlight. Unfortunately, this was one of the more disappointing omakase experiences I’ve had. In omakase dining, timing and attention to each guest are very important, but throughout the meal it felt like more attention was being given to other tables than to us. I was also uncomfortable when the bill was presented with gratuity already included, especially considering the level of service we experienced. I hope this feedback can be taken into consideration to improve the guest experience in the future.
