I stopped by here for a quick lunch because I was craving something authentic and simple. The food really hits the spot if you are looking for classic flavors that do not break the bank. It is a super casual, no-frills kind of place, so do not expect anything fancy, but the service was fast and the portions were perfect for a hungry afternoon. I would definitely come back when I need a reliable, tasty meal on the go.
Thanh Đa is a popular hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese spot for banh mi near 8 Av, Brooklyn. I read many negative reviews about the terrible attitude of the owner, skimpy toppings and how their prices have risen significantly. God knows how nervous I was when I walked into the shop lol. Fortunately I didn’t have such poor experience when I went. I was very satisfied with what I got, and the owner and staff weren’t rude at all. Just keep in mind they no longer open dine-in area. #1 House Special Ban
The banh mi was exceptional. The bread was appropriately toasted, and each sandwich was prepared to order. I recommend calling ahead, as the wait time is approximately 10 minutes. Would visit again!
