Thought I’d try something new today so I stopped into The Black Bull. It looked like a nice bar. At 1:15pm (15 minutes after the bar opened) I left because of the horrible crowd. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 20 years, I’ve seen good bars come and go. This place is a fad right now that won’t last. I won’t be back.
We were looking for a new local bar and this felt like a solid find. We’ve been missing Floyd’s and happened to stumble in here. The space is cozy with textured wallpaper that gives it character without trying too hard. They poured a proper Guinness, which I appreciate, and the Sunday soccer crowd brought a fun but relaxed energy. There was plenty of seating, and the bathroom was large and very clean. By one of the old bar tenders of Floyd and really embodies a true English pub. Staff are all lovely and the vibes are exceptional.
