I’ve been coming here since I was a child and the experience would usually be short and pleasant, but today I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and jelly, initially I was going to order from the cook directly but the lady behind the counter (that always seems grumpy) took my order instead and asked if i wanted it toasted and I said yes which she repeated back to the cook. I received a cold bagel with only cream cheese. I called to tell them about the mistake and said I would come back. Onc
I've lived in this hood for 17 years and Fort Washington Bakery and Deli has been my go to for bacon, egg, cheese, mayo and avocado on a roll. Simply delicious but the true draw is the chicken torta. I have tried to find a better torta throughout the US states bordering Mexico....but the torta in Washington Heights is still the best. No kidding. Cash only and truly delightful staff.
Their baked goods are definitely baked fresh every morning bc it always smells like hot butter and amazingness. Not to mention the bagels and food are always fresh as well. The display case and food are kept very clean/neat and the wait time is really good for a very busy morning spot. Love this place and the staff is very very friendly!
