Came here unexpectedly and it ended up being a blessing. These were the best empanadas I’ve tasted by far — full of tender meat, and the outer crust was packed with flavor. The sauce compliments the empanada perfectly. The grilled chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Same can be said for the beans which had tons of flavor, the plantains which were sweet and charred perfectly, and finally the rice and tostones.
3/20/26 Tried Tozton in Astoria while restaurant-hopping. The spot is lowkey and cozy. Drinks (mojito & margarita) were tasted like juice. The highlight was the food--my plantain tostone cup with shrimp, cheese, and sweet plantains was . So flavorful and worth going back for. The ceviche was great for my sister. Final take: Come for the food, not the drinks. I'd go back to try the Bandeja Paisa.
We absolutely love this place! The food is always fresh and full of flavor. Every dish tastes homemade and authentic, and you can really tell they use quality ingredients. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. We come here often and it’s always consistent. If you’re in Astoria and craving real Peruvian food, this spot is definitely a favorite of ours. Highly recommend! 🌟
