Bustling, no-frills joint offering a variety of Trinidadian-style Chinese dishes & baked goods.
From Google Maps reviews.
My mom went there for the first ever this morning....well. The shrimp doubles tasted like they were straight from a doubles spot in Trinidad, the best bara I've tasted in NYC. The beef roti was delicious & they did not skimp on the meat, as some places might. The cassava poe, delightful!
Take-out service only. This is my go-to spot for doubles. (if you don't know what they are, just go order two, and thank me later.) Good West Indian take-out restaurants in New York City are usually identified by the length of the line. These guys are extremely efficient in moving the line. Even so, expect a long, snaking line. The wait, I promise you, is worth it.
Delicious and great prices - Roti - huge but I would have liked a little more seasoning and curry taste; still decent - Pone - absolutely perfect; can taste ask the ingredients (nutmeg, extract, etc.) - Current Roll - absolutely delicious - Coconut Slice - delish but a bit dry; could be that I put it in the fridge ... definitely a place you should visit **2hr parking, but busy area, so a challenge
