Good place to stop by with your laptop for some coffee or tea. The coffee shop has comfortable seating, making it a nice place to work or relax for a while. It's also conveniently located near Chelsea Market, making it an easy stop when exploring the neighborhood. The flat white was particularly good.
This week, I stepped into Urbana Cafe & Gallery for the first time. It is a laid back yet also well attended space. Its relaxed yet simultaneously busy vibe (on a Wednesday around 4 PM), feels more West Coast than East Coast, imho. It reminds me of "Communal Coffee," in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego, to be precise. Though they don't make flower bouquets onsite (as is the case at Communal Coffee), it felt like they could...it had that creative, energizing hum in the air there. : ) With
Urbana Coffee has a nice concept, but it might not be for everyone. The drinks are more on the specialty side, which means higher prices and sometimes smaller portions. If you prefer classic, strong coffee or value-focused options, this place might feel a bit overrated.
