Stopped into Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and tried the Matcha Strawberry. The flavor sounded amazing on paper but in reality it leaned very sugary and not very natural. It was interesting enough to finish, but not something I would rush back for. The shop itself is small and stylish, very Instagram friendly, but the acoustics are rough. Even with just a few people inside the noise was bouncing off every surface. It takes away from what could be a cozy spot. A little soundproofing would go a long way.

I’m really disappointed because we genuinely love Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and usually have great experiences at other locations. Last night was completely different. We came in about 20 minutes before closing with our kids (it was their first time), and although I understand it was close to closing, customers should still be treated with respect during all business hours.
