My friends and I stumbled across this bar last Saturday when we visited nyc. The vibe seemed good and we were having a good time singing, everything was great until we met the bartenders. The guy in charge of the karaoke was very rude, would only accept bills in cash to take song requests and kept asking people to tip him more to move your song up the queue. Heard a lot of rave reviews of the bar beforehand, but their karaoke queue system and service left a lot to be desired. Before our party we communicated directly with Winnie’s staff over social media and were told we had a booth reserved for our party. However, when we arrived, the bartenders there refused to let us have a booth and said the communication before was not applicable because *they* did not send the messages … Besides that, their karaoke request system was disorganized and scammy.
Winnie’s was our meetup place before heading to see Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club literally right across the street, so super convenient. It’s upstairs on the 2nd floor, definitely a dive bar vibe with a lively, energetic crowd. I’ve heard they have a good happy hour, but only on select drinks from their HH menu. Heads up: if you want extras, like the tequila shots I ordered for the table, those are full price (of course) but even at full price it was still a good deal. Ended up chasing them with
