Heard a lot of good things about this place and was excited to try. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I’m not sure if it was the dish I ordered (Spicy Stewed Pork Hand Ripped Noodles), but there was no flavor for me except soy sauce. The meat in the dish had a lot of gelatinous pieces and it just tasted salty vs seasoned. I also ordered the pork bun and that too lacked flavor tremendously. I LOVE spicy food and this place hits the spot EVERY TIME! The noodles are always fresh & handmade to order - The bite to them is great & the flavor WOW! I get the Spicy Tingly Beef & Tendon In Soup; extra spicy & its an unique depth of flavors layered together that you WILL be craving them lol & at your own will you have the option to add extra chilli oil (which I do) & it never disappoints. If you're in the area & enjoy trying new dishes, Xi'an is a must try, you won't regret it ✨
It's a tradition of my family's to always visit Xi-an Famous Foods when we come to NYC. Once again, they did not disappoint. The restaurant has lots of tables for seating and a self-serve system for ordering, picking up the food, and grabbing cutlery.
