Yin Ji Chang Fen is a Hong Kong style spot that keeps the menu focused and does it well. We ordered the rice rolls, which are the main reason to come here. The chang fen comes out silky and thin, and they're generous with the toppings which makes a real difference compared to other places. This was my first visit to Yin Ji Chang Fen on Bayard Street, and while I still prefer the larger seating area at the Flushing locations, this Chinatown spot delivered the comforting Cantonese flavors that have made Yin Ji such a reliable favorite. The thing to get here is the rice. We got the pork and chives and the chicken mushroom. The later could have been more flavorful but both were good. Next time if order the pork again and try the shrimp. Staff was friendly but be aware it is cash only with a ten dollar minimum. This spot is perfect for a food crawl though because it has a clean bathroom for paying customers (although you might have to wait in a small (1-2 person) line for a minute since it's just the one.
