1 Golden Pancake can be a little tough to find, as it’s tucked deep inside an alleyway alongside several other shops in the back. The overhyped corn egg tart was just okay. The filling was cold and sweet, but it lacked a deep, rich corn flavor. Overall, a bit underwhelming.
Hidden down a long hallway, I was excited to try the double corn croissant. This is more about gimmick than taste. It's definitely strongly flavored of corn, but the pastry is really flavorless and the custard was cold on mine. Corn on top was also way more charred than some photos I have seen. Just a little disappointing and expensive for being so disappointing. The staff member there was nice and service was fine.
I’ve been coming here since they were called Eggcellent Pancakes, and lemme tell you…..they’re the closest you’ll get to the authentic ones from Hong Kong! One bite and I’m instantly transported back to my childhood, eating these right off the street in Mong Kok. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. No other place does it quite like this. ✨ Love love love!
