it was yummy! i ordered the cod and a side of chips to-go but ended up eating there. the food came in a paper tray wrapped in a large sheet of paper which felt interesting and a bit unique. the batter on the fish was super crunchy, and the cod itself was moist and flaky. the tartar sauce was just okay, not quite what I’m used to. everything is fried to order, so it comes out piping hot. the chips are ordered separately but plated together. they have vinegar and salt on the side for you to add.
Delicious cut of fish that was battered to perfection! The chips were very good but not particularly crispy — if that’s what you prefer. The pickled onions were a fun treat. But be aware that there isn’t much seating, although there are benches out front for dining on nice days. Also, make sure to check out the British tea and sundries shop next door to complete your Little Britain in NYC experience!
Stopped by A Salt & Battery and really enjoyed it. The fish was very good fresh, crispy, and cooked perfectly. The chips were just as good, super flavorful and not bland at all. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the food came out quickly, which was a nice bonus. Solid spot if you’re craving classic fish and chips.
