The food was good. It’s basic Chinese food with some uncommon items like pork belly. The two-entree menu was a good buy for $12. I had eggplant-tofu-string beans and pork belly with peppers. Both were excellent. Food wasn’t too salty and I didn’t feel any msg. The servers were nice and the space is bright and cheery. I would go back to see how the menu changes. I saw someone with an egg-seafood dish and it looked really good.
Aunt Jenny’s is a slightly better version of Panda Express. You can get small bowls with one, two, or three dishes on rice or noodles (noodles cost extra). They had three vegan/vegetarian options the two times I tried them. I was very excited for a quick Chinese spot with some veggie options as this neighborhood has turned into something of a “Little China” with mostly authentic Chinese places that have few to no vegan options. Had a great experience at Aunt Jenny Chinese Kitchen on the Upper West Side. The food tasted very authentic and reminded me of real home-style Chinese cooking. We ordered the combo plates, and the portions were generous with a great variety of dishes.
