food here is always good, exceptional even. the toro caviar, sizzling octopus, Hokkaido uni, eel, shrimp noodles, and seasonal fruit dessert are always standout dishes to order on the menu. i can’t recall the waitresses name but she’s been there for years and is always extremely gracious and kind. she definitely makes the place (even when it’s super packed and less comfortable)! will always come back as long as she’s there.
I was very happy with my experience at Masa NYC Hinoki Counter for $950 per person. You can get more detail at my youtube channel Noah Eats. This is not the Bar Masa location. Very expensive but amazing. Was taken here as a gift by my grandparents and was truly blown away. Meal is about 2 hours long and quite big, so I would recommend skipping lunch so you can fully enjoy it. No pictures allowed inside, either. Waitstaff is very nice and it is fascinating to watch the chefs work at the bar area.
