This was my first time ordering from this restaurant even though I've seen it there for years. I ordered legume with rice n peas and a herring patty. They serve generous portions and the prices are fair. To my surprise the legume was vegetarian and it had a nice taste and texture. I thought the rice had pigeon peas but turned out to be green peas which was ok. The rice had an aftertaste like it had been frozen which is the best way to describe it. The food is good , but the service is disgusting. It seems as if depending on who you are which kind of service you will encounter . i am not of Haitian origin but i love the food and no matter how many times i come to this place to support & experience the food, i am always greeted with closed arms and attitude. There's another one of these franchise located on Rogers and church Ave also on church Ave & east 16th, i recommend going there instead.
I really wish I had read the reviews before visiting this place what a major disappointment. I wasted $33, and honestly had to throw the entire meal in the trash. I ordered white rice and legumes, but the rice was both overcooked and undercooked in different parts.
