Quite disappointed by our first time at Benoît. Given the prices and the fact that it is a restaurant owned by Alain Ducasse, and as a French person myself, I was hoping to enjoy more delicious food and drinks. Even though the place is open early for dining, we weren't allowed to eat in the main dining area and were forced to the bar snacks and wines. Which is fine I guess. The filet was not cooked to specifications but was tasty. Fries were a hit as were the cocktails. Charcuterie board was meh, I definitely expected more uniqueness. The cheese plate was eye opening and probably the star of the show. Once I got the bill though, that midtown "tax" really hit. There's better for the value out there.

We didn’t receive our food for another half hour at least. I am sure it was not too late to switch. I understand this can be annoying, but we were very nice about it and it was right after we had ordered. He could have at least been kinder or tried to accommodate. Rega
