Charming restaurant with historic appeal. Indoor and outdoor seating. Impressively tasty food and perfect portions. The eggplant parmesan had no breading and was light. Not sure why I’ve never tried a calzone dessert; it was so good and the tiramisu was traditional and yummy. Good wine and cocktail selection. Fast and attentive service. We chose this restaurant ahead of a Liberty game at Barclays and it was a great choice.

Black Oak on Fifth is one of those neighborhood spots we kept meaning to try and somehow never did, despite living nearby for a while. After finally stopping in, it turned out to be a great place to grab some solid comfort food in a relaxed setting.
