Very well done here. The selection is overwhelming, everything is well displayed and there's a lot out of the ordinary. It will take me a few trips to try all their selection. The Kouign Amman was a good surprise, the cheese custard is near perfect between taste and texture, but the rosemary touch is what made the pastry. Try it. The crownie was different. An extremely neighborhood friendly bakery with a variety of mouth-watering options. Some of them are even nostalgic for me. Pick a black sesame and osmanthus roll to fix a sweet tooth or a basil pesto pine nut egg cup for a savory craving. The filling (pork, shiitake mushrooms and scallions) in the pig in a blanket was quite generous - I only wish the dough a bit more flaky:)
Did I overpurchase? Perhaps! Would I do it again? Absolutely. Their pastries looked phenomenal fabulous but I was here for bread alone. I only needed a loaf but I saw the fig walnut and the herb gruyere and somehow convinced myself it was reasonable to by both. I have no regrets however. I knew they were perfect the second they handed them over, they were still warm, they smelled insane, there was big beautiful chunks of fig and cheese poking through the crust. They made the subway smell fantast
