Everything here was delicious! We grabbed a 5pm res and were seated right away. We started with the wontons in chili oil which were good, and the chili oil was delicious. For entrees we had the spicy cumin lamb, mapo tofu, and mustard green fried rice. I loved everything but the mapo tofu was my favorite. It was a good amount of food for 2 people and we had enough for leftovers as well. They have a good happy hour deal with drinks as well.
Great location, delicious food, fair prices, and generous portions. If you’re a fan of Chinese food, or if you’ve ever wondered what delicious home-style Chinese cooking should taste like, this is the place to go. The food is so flavorful and very close to what I had in China. The “梅菜扣肉” especially reminded me of what my grandma used to make. I’ve been missing this dish since I moved to America, and this restaurant really made me feel at home. I’ll definitely come back.
Overall a decent dining experience. Service was good; we were seated promptly for our reservation for 4 people, and wait staff was attentive. For the food, the duck fried rice and century egg burrata were delicious. The glazed eggplant was above average. The other items we got (beef in roast pepper sauce, chestnut short ribs, Szechuan noodles) were mediocre. Nothing was spicy despite the various level of peppers on the menu (as someone who do not usually eat spicy food).
