Cafe Luxembourg is an Upper West Side gem! I was specifically searching for actual French- French Onion Soup and found this spot on Google. I am SO glad I did because the soup was perfect, everything I wanted it to be. It was rich and light at the same time, crunchy and soft, the ultimate dish! The bar top is some kind of polished silver and stunning to behold. A local told me it was the only Bartop if it’s kind in the city. Highly recommend! Went here for dinner after a day at the natural history museum. Bustling vibe, crowded, approximately 2/3 male clientele at the dinner hour. Hostess & manager worked together to seat us with no waiting, even though we had no reservation 🙏🏻. Standouts were the Luxemburger (get it? 😂) with bacon and Gruyère cheese, and a martini made with French gin. I didn’t quite catch the name when the waiter told me, Le Plume maybe? But it was good! Just east of Central Park, this french restaurant was cozy and delicious. Service was prompt and polite. My fiance and I ordered off the lunch specials, which were a turkey kale soup and a seared tuna with greens. These were each seasoned perfectly, but still super fresh tasting. Would highly recommend!
