Sourdough bagel stuffed with japanese-style tamagoyaki, and a shakshuka inspired bagel sandwich spotted in NYC! The secret to their fluffy egg omelette is that every bagel sammy is made with an individual omelette made in cast-iron tamagoyaki pans from Japan. Their West Village location gives off a buzzy deli vibe, with limited bar and window seating. It was packed when I went on the weekend, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. Got the chicken schnitzel club sandwich and it was so good. Staff is super friendly and we got our sandwiches in about 5-10 minutes. If you want a good sandwich in New York, this is the place!
Like most west village dining spots, Edith’s is always completely overrun with people. At one point, they asked folks we were waiting for food to “take a lap” around the block and come back because they were near capacity. I would absolutely not recommend trying to dine-in. I had a bagel and the totkes (latke tots). The everything bagel had a nice kick to it which was unique, but the totkes came out cold, which was pretty disappointing. I think this place is probably overrated!
