I’ve been hearing about this place for a while and somehow never went. I finally checked it out with my boyfriend, and honestly—it was the best idea. The food was amazing. I ordered the lomo saltado with fried plantains, which is one of their most popular dishes, and it did not disappoint. I’ve walked past Flor de Mayo so many times and finally went in — and now I’m low-key mad I waited this long. This place is one of those neighborhood gems. Wow!!! The chaufa is so tasty! Literally took my first bite, and said, “Wow” out loud. Lomo saltado, great portion of fries, tomato, and steak. Next time I’ll order the steak medium rare, but this is the best I’ve had in NYC. I can’t wait to come back and try the other dishes. Delicious!
