While everyone visits Grand Central Station to admire the grandeur architecture of this American piece of NYC history and how well it is maintained and kept, you must also visit and dine at the Grand Brasserie for breakfast or brunch while your at it. The experience is 2nd to none while you marvel at the beautiful art deco Parisian interior bar and setting. It brings you back to the old world of Paris. Food is great as well. Grand Central Terminal is an icon. It deserves a signature restraurant. Grand Brasserie evoked the memory of our experience at Le Train Bleu at Gare de Lyon. We waited at the bar and enjoyed a pre-prandial and some conversation with the bar tenders. Once seated in our booth in the main dining room, the options on the menu do not disappoint. We enjoyed lobster rolls, avocado toast and a Wagyu French dip (all agreed the dip was the star!). Our mocktails were sweet. Our server was attentive without
Located at Vanderbilt hall inside Grand Central Terminal, the main dining area is open to the concourse with its usual cacophony of background noise. There is a more private dining green room in the back with darker ambiance and impressive bar. The food was excellent for the price, onion soup and toasted bread with soft room temp butter. Bouillabaisse was rich in flavor, though did felt some grit from the mussels. The chocolate mousse dessert is as pleasing to the eyes as smooth on the tongue.
