I dined at Gurumé with a friend in from DC, who had been there before. She has been raving about the place, and it did not disappoint. Far from it -- Gurumé wowed us! Every dish we ordered was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. We started with the Scallops Crudo, with hokkaido scallops that themselves were wonderful, plated beautifully, and nestled in a very tasty, light broth. Delicious pea salad, steak and potatoes with chimichurri, and black sesame bread pudding. The staff was incredibly cognizant of timing since I was seeing a show. I would absolutely go back for the steak and potatoes alone! The scallop crudo could have used more balance on the acidity but that is my only note.
This was a good place but compared to other more authentic Korean food places this place was meh. Food: the wings were amazing, great balance of sweet an and savory with extreme crunch. The ramen was a bit over the top with the spiciness and muted the actual flavors that would’ve stood out kid better had they not been drowned in the spicy sauce.
