We came to see a play named DEAR JOHN. Writer & performer is RACHEL LIN. It was based on Rachel's real life. It was very engagimg and we truly enjoyed the play. The staff of the HERE Arts Center was very nice and friendly. The show was downstair in the Dorothy B. Williams Theater. It is small and cozy - about 70 seats - so you felt like you were actually in "the same room" with the actor. The stage has state-of-the-art lighting and sound system. We were quite entertained. This small creative space is one of the things that make NYC great. It's spaces like this that are the lifeblood of creativity. If you ever lose faith in humanity, it can be found here.
The space was decent. But the puppet show I had the good fortunes to attend was excellent. The washrooms were available downstairs so they were not accessible but we're queer friendly.
