The "best Biryani in NYC"! Seems recently renovated and no longer a small how in the wall as previous photos suggest. Had the paneer biryani and it was bursting with flavor. Not spicy, very balanced, generous paneer. Then garlic naan fresh out of the oven is perfectly crispy. Left feeling stuffed and satisfied. Service was quickly and friendly. A good stop for lunch of after work dinner.
Ordered the following dishes: chicken 65, butter naan, dum ka murg, chicken dum biryani. Portions are on the smaller side but fair for the price. Chicken 65 was extremely well made and delicious. The naan was super soft and obviously fresh out of the oven. The dum ka murg was good but nothing special. The biggest letdown was the biryani. I’ve lived in Hyderabad and I know what real Hyderabadi biryani is, but this isn’t even close. It was honestly like I was just eating rice that wasn’t spiced -
4.75 Learned that the original location was on 52nd St, small and closing. Lexington Ave was 2nd. This is the newest location. It is nicely decorated with flowers, murals and cool ceiling fan mechanism. We sat in the large dining area in the front, with a bar. Saw more seating in the back. Restrooms available.
