This modern Thai/Thai fusion spot in Williamsburg is a good spot for a date night. The interior is intimate, and cozy. Service here is good. I came here for a group dinner with three friends and we ordered their steak tartare, lamb shank, and branzino (they have a fairly small menu). Everything was pretty solid. I enjoyed their steak tartare and thought that it was really unique that they paired the dish with fried tripe. Notes of lemongrass and other spices were really strong, reminding me of
kru doesn’t serve your typical thai food. they have a more modern and elevated take on it. beautiful presentation of dishes that taste fresh, citrusy, and funky. be warned, the jungle curry is not for the faint of heart. they’re not lying when they say it’s “extremely spicy”. it’s a very memorable dish.
Consistently great service, standard menu, and wine selection. The Laab Bar pop-up introduces some new bangers. Loved the khao soy and calamari. Haven’t had these dishes prepared the same way anywhere else in NYC. Flavorful and gorgeously presented.
