The Essex Market is fun! Lots of little kiosks with items and flavors from all over the world! Days are starting to get chillier so I needed to try these two flavors before the weather really starts getting cold. Taro and matcha flavor- I truly just wanted to eat really colorful ice cream… The person working was very nice and patient with my questions because they have flavors I’ve never heard of before like pandan and durian. This is a branch of the redoubtable Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, with all of the superb flavors that place offers: ube, zen butter (a beguiling mixture of peanut butter and toasted sesame seeds), green tea, and so many more. A special bonus of this location: no crowds, at least when I have visited. I went with a double-cookie play on my last visit: matcha and cookies beneath almond cookie. Rich, thick stuff. I’m a fan. I went here today and the ice cream was delicious. I ordered Ube, which is a favorite of mine. Lots of unique flavors. As delicious as it was I am torn as to whether or not it’s worth $6.50 for one scoop. It’s quite pricey if you bring your children. Service was nothing special at all. I’ll go there again because the environment at the Essex market is exceptional and I enjoy being there.
