This is a relatively new Italian restaurant in the neighborhood, and it has been busy since opening. We went for a Saturday dinner and it exceeded expectations. The salad was good, the pasta portions were generous and reasonably priced, and there was an impressive wine selection. We did not try it this time, but they are known for the killer pasta, which is rare to find at Italian restaurants in NYC. We will definitely be back for the pasta.
It's not often you go to a restaurant and start thinking about the next time you'll come back before you're done with dinner. That's La Terra. My branzino was excellent - definitely fresh and cooked to perfection, being both flavorful and moist. The other entree, an orecchiette with broccoli rabe and sausage pasta dish, was equally good. Finally Luigi has opened La Terra. We were faithful customers to his last restaurant so we are happy he reopened in our neighborhood. The decoration is wonderful. Service top notch and of course Luigi is such a great host. We had a lovely dinner and will be back very soon.
