Before going in, I checked the Google Maps rating and thought maybe people were being too harsh. The place looks nice, the seating is pleasant, and the overall vibe is good. I ordered an almond croissant and a black coffee. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. I couldn’t finish the croissant. I didn’t have the heart to throw it away, so I gave it to some pigeons instead. To be fair, the pigeons seemed to love it. The staff were friendly, but the food simply didn’t work for me.
The usual for this chain, but understaffed. One unfortunate waiter had to serve the entire restaurant. There was also a female server but she actively avoided me when I asked her for water, then disappeared. Kudos to the male server for keeping the wheels on! The food is solid, just take a look at the customer area before you commit, to confirm that there are enough people to serve you.
I enjoy Le Pain Quotiden because of the food and service. They gave great choices for breakfast and I usually order the ham and gruyère cheese croissant which comes with a tossed and lightly dressed salad. Today I ordered green tea with honey. I usually order a cappuccino but had a taste for tea. The freshly made pastries are unbelievably amazing. I usually order the apricot and pistachio tart!!! Absolutely delicious!!!!
