Tried Makina in Sunnyside and overall the food was very good. The injera bruschetta was super creative and really flavorful great balance of warm spices with a nice touch of acidity, and the fried injera chips were a smart idea. My only complaint is the portion ratio: they gave very few chips compared to the amount of bruschetta, so I had no choice but to order a whole extra side for $4.50, which felt unnecessary. Food was really good. The lil empanadas they brought out w the sampler slapped. What ever that spicy sauce was, I want it in my fridge. I got the stew and my friend got the spicy steak. I would come back and try the lamb. Service was on point. The restaurant is built out really nice. Lots of detail especially when you walk into the bathroom.
One of my absolute favorite spots in the neighborhood 🤍 From food that truly bursts with flavor, to incredible service (shoutout to Asia, she’s an absolute gem), to the tasty drinks (both cocktails AND mocktails), and the warm, welcoming owners who make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. I could recommend this place over and over again. I highly suggest coming ready to share because there are so many amazing things on the menu that it’s impossible to pick just one. You’re definitely
