Always have a nice meal here. Perfect poached eggs. Nice team. Really good coffee. Had an off menu “shaken espresso” recently that I hope goes on the menu. The music sometimes can be a little loud but if you ask them to turn it down they’re usually accommodating. Also like the one on Vanderbilt.
I've lived down the street from Milk Bar since before they opened here, and the food has always been fantastic. When they add new menu items, seasonal or not, they're always great and welcome additions to their other fun food. I remember when they did table service and it was pretty chaotic, servers didn't seem to have a handle on how to really flow getting to everyone reasonably well, which we all know being a server isn't easy to begin with. Went there last week - helpful staff, nice outdoor seating. Went again yesterday - dismissive staff, no outdoor seating. When I asked the cashier where all the tables and chairs were, she abruptly told me they took them in because they close at 3pm - catch was it was only 1:55pm! I sat outside on a bench with no table, while she continued to clean up around me and handed me my salad in a to-go box. While my salad was tasty, I doubt I'll be back due to the hurried and rude staff.
